How does the WordPress Plugin work?
The design2 WordPress Plugin acts as a bridge between your Figma designs and your WordPress site, automating the conversion process. Once you’ve designed your website in Figma, you can use the plugin to push the design directly to your WordPress environment with just a few clicks.
How does the Figma plugin work?
The design2 Figma Plugin allows you to seamlessly convert your Figma designs into WordPress with just a few clicks. Once you’ve completed your design in Figma, the plugin enables you to either export the design as a JSON file or push it directly to a WordPress site using the design2 platform. The plugin ensures all your design elements are accurately translated into WordPress, and if there are any issues or missing elements, design2’s built-in fallback layout inference mechanism (FLIM) automatically corrects the layout. This allows you to preview and refine the design on a self-hosted staging site before publishing it live, making the entire process quick, smooth, and efficient.
How does the design2.com App work?
The design2 App simplifies the process of turning your Figma designs into fully functional WordPress websites. Once you’ve finished your design in Figma, you upload it to the design2 App, which converts it using AI-driven automation. You can either export the design as a JSON file or push it directly to a self-hosted WordPress staging environment. The app uses design2’s proprietary FLIM (Fallback Layout Inference Mechanism) to ensure that even incomplete or missing design data is filled in, providing a pixel-perfect, responsive conversion. After reviewing the converted site on the staging server, you can push the design live to your WordPress site with just a few clicks, making the entire process fast, accurate, and hassle-free.
Do you need the WordPress and Figma plugins to use the design2 App?
The design2 App is the core system that converts Figma designs into WordPress using a vision model, and while the Figma Plugin and WordPress Plugin are not strictly required, they enhance the workflow. The Figma Plugin allows you to directly push your Figma designs into the design2 App, utilizing a Figma API key to authenticate and process the design through the vision model. If you choose not to use the Figma Plugin, you can still upload the design manually through the design2 App by linking your Figma account using the API key. The WordPress Plugin works in tandem with the design2 App to seamlessly push the processed designs to a staging or live WordPress site. However, using the WordPress Plugin independently (without the design2 App or Figma Plugin) would not work with a simple JSON export, as the vision model and layout inference mechanism are necessary to properly convert the design. In this case, a Figma API key is still required to pull designs directly from Figma into WordPress via the vision model.
What are staging sites, and how do they work?
Staging sites allow you to preview your Figma design as a fully functioning WordPress website before publishing it live. In each design2 plan, you have access to a certain number of staging environments where you can test your designs, make adjustments, and ensure everything is perfect before pushing the site to production.
How does design2 convert my Figma designs to WordPress?
design2 uses an advanced AI-powered vision model and FLIM (Fallback Layout Inference Mechanism) to convert your Figma designs into WordPress. The platform analyzes your design’s structure, images, fonts, and layouts, then translates them into a fully functional WordPress site while maintaining pixel-perfect accuracy.
Can I import multiple pages from Figma to WordPress at once?
Yes! design2 allows you to import multiple pages from your Figma design to WordPress simultaneously. This feature is particularly helpful for large projects, saving time and ensuring consistency across the entire site.
Can I reuse sections from my Figma designs in WordPress?
Absolutely. design2 allows you to convert sections from your Figma designs into reusable patterns in WordPress, enabling you to replicate and reuse key design elements across multiple pages and projects.
How does design2 handle mobile responsiveness?
design2 automatically ensures that your Figma designs are fully responsive, meaning they will adapt to various screen sizes, including desktop, tablet, and mobile. This guarantees a smooth and optimized experience across all devices without the need for additional adjustments.
What is a staging site, and why should I use one?
A staging site is a private environment where you can preview and test your Figma-to-WordPress conversion before pushing it live. Staging sites allow you to catch any potential issues, make design tweaks, and ensure everything looks and functions perfectly before making it public.
How does design2 handle fonts and typography?
design2 automatically syncs fonts and typography from your Figma design to WordPress, ensuring that all text styles are consistent. This includes custom fonts, font weights, and typography settings from your Figma design system.
Can design2 handle e-commerce designs?
Yes! design2 can convert Figma designs that are built for e-commerce sites. By integrating with popular WordPress themes and builders that support WooCommerce, design2 ensures that product pages, checkout flows, and other e-commerce elements are seamlessly converted and functional.
Can I customize the design after it’s converted?
Yes, once your Figma design is converted into WordPress, you can further customize it using your preferred page builder (such as Elementor or Divi) or directly within WordPress. design2 provides flexibility, allowing you to fine-tune your design after conversion.
Is coding knowledge required?
No, coding knowledge is not required to use the design2 App. Nodev is designed to automate the process of converting Figma designs into WordPress websites using AI, including a vision model and fallback layout inference mechanism (FLIM), which handle the complex development tasks in the background.
What page builders and themes does design2 support?
Currently, design2 is designed to integrate directly with WordPress Gutenberg and Default Theme, and uses its core structure for the Figma-to-WordPress conversion. No theme or plugin license lock-in with this approach. While we focus on delivering pixel-perfect designs through our proprietary vision model and fallback mechanism, additional support for specific page builders and themes is coming for Astra & Spectra, Elementor & Hello, Divi, SeedProd, Beaver, and Bricks.
What is FLIM (Fallback Layout Inference Mechanism)?
FLIM stands for Fallback Layout Inference Mechanism, an AI-powered system used by design2 to ensure that your Figma designs are converted into WordPress websites as accurately as possible. It steps in when parts of the design, such as layout details or spacing, are incomplete or unclear. FLIM analyzes the design, infers missing elements, and adjusts the layout to create a pixel-perfect and fully responsive WordPress site. This guarantees that even if some parts of the design are not fully defined, the final result still looks professional and well-structured.
In simple terms, FLIM acts as a safety net, ensuring that your design’s conversion is accurate and visually consistent, even when there are gaps in the data.
